Women of HOPE is a growing community of SoCal women connecting, collaborating, and caring for families in underserved areas of the world. This year, we are supporting a project in Rwanda that celebrates and equips single mothers with vocational training and community.
At this gathering, we’ll hear from Christine Baingana, the CEO of Urwego Bank. She is responsible for the bank’s Christian-based mission to provide a ladder of opportunity to underserved communities in Rwanda. She led a turnaround strategy starting in 2017 that resulted in well-trained staff, fundamental processes with reduced risk and improved efficiency, and digital-driven services. Christine is excited to help Urwego emerge as a leading microfinance bank, not only in social transformation but also in financial performance and stewardship. She has been heavily involved in multiple ministries at Christian Life Assembly (CLA), including helping to launch a ministry for teenagers. She is part of a group of professionals who advise managers on ways to manage people, and better manage their financials.
