Over the past 30 years, NCF California givers have granted more than $1 billion to ministries, churches, and nonprofits around the world.
That number represents far more than dollars.
It reflects a community of Christians choosing to live generously—thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with a deep desire to steward what God has entrusted to them for lasting Kingdom impact.
Because generosity, at its best, is not a moment.
It’s a way of life.
This video story represents just one example of what happens when generosity is lived out over time—when lives are shaped, decisions are guided, and resources are released for God’s purposes.
Three Decades of Faithful Stewardship
What began as a simple vision—to help families steward their resources for Kingdom impact—has, by God’s grace, become something far greater than anyone could have imagined.
Behind the $1 billion milestone are thousands of decisions:
- business owners giving from complex assets
- families aligning their values with their finances
- advisors guiding clients toward thoughtful, impactful generosity
These are not isolated acts.
They are the fruit of long-term relationships, trusted guidance, and a shared belief that what we have been given is meant to be stewarded—not simply accumulated.
Over time, that kind of stewardship multiplies.
That level of activation is remarkable. It reflects a deep trust in the Kingdom our God is building—and a willingness to release resources for His purposes.
Janice Munemitsu offered a reflection on the milestone
“When we hit $1 billion in contributions, we thought we should celebrate. But then we thought, no—we need to wait until we get $1 billion out. Here we are two years later.”
Janice Munemitsu, NCF California Giver & Former Board Member
That is the kind of generosity this community embodies.
And we’re just getting started.
March 28: A Moment to Celebrate
“We are looking back to celebrate, and we are looking forward to anticipate,” shared longtime board member Bob Shank.
On March 28, 2026, members of the NCF California community gathered at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach to mark this milestone together.

The evening was not simply a celebration of what has been given—but a recognition of the lives, relationships, and decisions that made it possible.
A highlight of the evening was honoring three individuals whose leadership and generosity helped shape this community.

The Wise Steward Tribute
We also honored Bob Fry, who stepped forward at a pivotal moment and carried what had been entrusted to him with wisdom, care, and deep trust in God.
“Bob, you called me to adventure,” shared Bryan Feller, current President of NCF California. “You made your extraordinary gifts available to God and he stabilized and strengthened this community through them.”
The Wise Steward Tribute reads:
Celebrating a life of faithful stewardship—wisely carried and entrusted forward.
“Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom the master puts in charge…?”
– Luke 12:42
Looking Ahead
Over the past three decades, we have had the privilege of witnessing God at work through the generosity of His people.
Again and again, we have seen how God multiplies what is entrusted to Him—releasing more generosity to the ministries advancing His work in the world today.
“We are looking back to celebrate, and we are looking forward to anticipate.”
Bob Shank, NCF California Giver & Board Member
The opportunity ahead is to continue inviting more individuals, families, and advisors into that same journey—one marked by wisdom, courage, and open hands.
Because generosity doesn’t just change outcomes.
It changes everything.
